Back Tack!

I'm one of those annoying participants who want their BT package to be a total surprise. Truth is I'm not quite finished, but all the loose ends should be tied up this weekend just in time. Sorry Didine, no sneak peeks!

(not so) Cool Homes

We spent the afternoon flitting around Austin with gobs of other real estate rubber-neckers vying for a peek inside some of the city's 'greener' homes. While most of what we saw was well designed in a magazine sort of way, very few of the residences felt like they had any heart and soul. Like model homes I guess. All but one looked like they could be candidates for McMansion or Not. While any move towards more sustainable building is commendable, it would have been exciting to see more of the technology and new materials available than just spray foam insulation and cork floors.
