85° and rising

Summer arrived in Austin a little early this year and I haven't had a chance to dig out the warm weather wear just yet. I found this fabric over the weekend and decided to make myself a treat. A treat with pockets.

Needle Book

A little needle book with appliqued linen cover and wool felt pages. The design is loosly based on this one from MS with the bird and tree design from an embroidered wallet in a Japanese craft book I cannot for the life of me find again. The cover is actually stiff matte board.

Back Tack Begins

We all got our match-ups and were given permission to start BT3! I'm 'making' for Sandrine in Liège, Belgium. I'll be recieving from Heather, whose blog %&$#*^% knits, I've been reading for a few months now. Since all of the provided patterns are for making fabric stuffed softies, and Heather is a knitter, I'm looking forward to getting something maybe a little different (like this incredibly cute but concerned robot, Herbert). *hint hint*. Just kidding, since this is my first Back Tack I'm not really expecting anything specific.

I'd like to keep y'all updated with the progress of my contribution, but I don't want to ruin the surprise for Sandrine. So you'll have to wait till the photos are sent over to flickr at the end of May.

Tweedle-eet

whipup

For K's mom for her birthday. Don't look too closely, I probably broke all kinds of proper quilting rules.

Refresh...wait...

I wonder how many other people are sitting there reloading the Back Tack site waiting for that email address? C'mon! Man I hope I did the time conversion correctly.

Craft Fling

Well we did Craft Fling. The gardens were beautiful, but the attendance could have been better. All in all we made out ok. Might try some other shows later in the summer.
